Rajkot is undergoing a rapid growth when it comes to commercial developments, especially on the first ring road of the city where many skyline shaping projects have come up in recent years, and one such project is ‘The Spire 2’. It is a 45 metre high project, located on a corner plot with its longer edge in line with the ring road. The developers had a clear program of ground to fourth floors as shops, and sixth to thirteenth floors as offices. The fifth floor serves as a split floor with additional parking facility for two wheeler vehicles. The overall planning strategy is fairly simple – the permissible area is divided into two wings of eight grids, with the vertical circulation for the shop floors in the central diving grid.

This is a landmark project as it is the first project in Rajkot where technically sound curtain glazing system has been implemented. This system has also been taken a step further by also incorporating the outdoor AC units within it, ensuring that the seamless look of the facade is not compromised.

The access to the office floors is through two separate triple height foyer spaces, from the rear side, thereby ensuring that the access points for the shops and offices remain separate. These foyers are designed in an elegant manner keeping in mind the landmark character of the project.

The central corridor at every floor is also designed in continuation with the entrance foyers – neat, easy to maintain, yet elegant.
