The site was a corner plot of land, at one of the busiest commercial junctions of Rajkot. The program was straightforward – Shops on ground to second floors, and open office spaces on the remaining two floors.
The concept idea was to accentuate the corner opening character of the plot, by ensuring that all units get a clear view. This gesture is then framed by a facade element which encompasses the glass box vertically as well as horizontally.
The shop’s facade have clear glass, so that there is maximum visibility, whereas the office spaces have reflective glass for privacy. The binding facade design comprises of a modular system of aluminium sheets and louvers.
This modular composition has recessed openings strategically placed in-between them, with integrated facade lights. After dark, it resembles a glass cube with an iconic jewel-like edge casing.
